Drakes in my Crosshairs...

Well lately the kills haven't been flowing in as nicely as they used too. Granted i haven't been dying either, but needless to say, i wanted some prey. Killed a Kestrel class frigate, but for a while that was about it.

So far, it was a slow week... Something that can sometimes be common to an outlaw of space. We cant just swoop in and destroy everything, we have to choose our targets, and strike at the best opportunity. But if the right targets and opportunities never present them selves, then money for our wallets wont either.

Was out hunting with a fleet the other night and had to return to my station quarters do to a headache. If you cant focus, you cant fight, so i went to wait it off.
Once i was in better condition and returned to my ship, I come to find out, five minutes after i left, my fleet mates scored some nice kills.... for some reason i hate headaches even more now...

Well last night i came on to find a fleet operation in effect in the Nalvula system. Still burnt about the other night, i saw this as a perfect opportunity to make up for what i missed and finally get some money back in my wallet.

We wondered around Nalvula for a while, trying to probe out several mission runners, each slipping by us with their ship unharmed. We kept at it for a good hour or so, and eventually started to think this was going to be another silent night.

We then decided to check the neighboring systems. I volunteered to check the Jan system. When i arrived, i checked the systems current population and it looked like the system had potential for a kill or two, so i warped to my safe spot and scanned a bit.

After a few short moments, I got a Drake class battle cruiser on scan. The pilot didn't make much effort in hiding his identity, and i quickly gathered intel on him. This looked to good to be true, the pilot seemed like he would be an insanely easy kill based on intel, and i called in the other fleet members.

We figured it was probably bait, but decided to take our chances. We warped in and opened fire. he offered no resistance what so ever. We got him down to ship structure in mere seconds and then noticed the whole fleet was not here. Our target was not fighting back at all and we decided to hold him warped scrambled while we wait for the rest of the fleet. This was all time that he should have called for help, or at least fired at us! but no, he didn't, he just sat there and waited politely for us to finish him off.

Once we finished doing the nasty with our drake friend, we scanned in Jan for a bit, and eventually went back to Nalvula when Jan proved to now be dead. we returned to trying to probe out mission runners. This time we had better luck, maybe the first drake kill was a good omen. we probed out another mission running Drake and killed him almost as easily.

Back to probing and once again we find a Drake. This time however, it was slightly different. There were two Drakes, both running the same mission. We considered we could be getting our selves killed, but we like to take chances, and also considered this would be a nice kill for us.

Warped in and locked down both of their warp drive systems. They were not gonna go anywhere unless they plowed us down. We focused fire on one drake at a time to speed up the process. We were under heavy fire from the Drakes, their drones, and the rats in the area, so the faster we dealt with this, the better.

The first Drake went down after about a minute, we then turned on the second. By now i had heavy drone fire on me, and rat fire as well. i announced the drone situation to my fleet mates and they helped me pick them off. Once refocusing on the Drake, his shields took a minute or so to go down. This one seemed fitted better than the other. But only in terms of his shielding. By now i was down to about a third of my armor, and it was falling pretty fast with the rat fire on me. I held out and saw once his shields were gone, his armor and structure began being smashed through like a mixed martial artist's fist through a small child's face...

I knew i should have warped out as my ship was half way through structure at the same time as his was, and i would have been on the killmail anyways, as my damage has already been done. But I'm stubborn you see, and i wanted to try and push it a few more seconds so i could see his ship go boom.

I got my wish and saw his ship explode, but my wish did not come without its cost, as my ship exploded at the exact same time his did. I didn't care much though, that Rifter lasted me many kills, and given the streak tonight, it would easily be replaced. I warped out and back to my ship yard to pick up another Rifter. Once my GCC was gone i was on my way back. I asked who grabbed the loot from those two kills and apparently....no one did. My fleet mates are not pirates like me, and don't live off of the loot, so they forgot about it, as i was the one looting the previous kills. We sat around for a while and tried to probe out some other ships and probe the loot for those drakes so i could cash in on them. A while went by and we couldn't really find another ship, or the loot again, so we called it a night.

So it was a good night, 4 Drake kills, and only one death. made several mil from the two drakes we actually got the loot for, and i got to kill some guys after a long slow week. Not bad :)

Well guess I'll see you guys in space. Fly safe, cause I'll be hunting >:)

Setting Sail for New Horizons.

Ever since I started playing EVE, I have been set on the path of the pirate. I joined Pyrotechnics Inc. and have been loyal to them since.
Though I enjoy the art of piracy, and it will always be my main form of living in New Eden, i needed a bit of something new.

Amamake and the nearby systems began to become old and stale. Sure they offered plenty of kills, and had everything i needed... But there was a much larger world to explore and i wanted to see it!

At the same time i needed more complexity, i needed something more happening than simply pirate roams everywhere i looked, day after day. I wanted to see the taste of actual war around me, i wanted to see the political conflicts that unfold, i wanted something more...

I had been wanting this for a while and planned to start my own corporation in the near future, but i knew i wasn't experienced enough yet to lead it successfully, and i didn't want to jump the gun.

Pyro has been dead for a long time and when i came back i was hoping to help it revive somehow. but as time went on and progress wasnt being made... I began thinking of leaving, and with the desire to see more, and it becoming more apparent that i would find those things in pyro, so i left.

I got in touch with my friend Romeo Blakstorm and asked him about the corp he was in. I had read about it in his blog and it seemed right up my ally of what im looking for. He gave me more details and it sounded perfect. with that i hauled my crap to Otsasai and threw in my application. I was accepted shortly after and was pleased with what i found. Gravis Unbound being a member of The Council. Alliance. they have a bit of everything, and seem to do em well. The low sec system i set camp in borders null sec and provides easy in and out access. The Council is currently involved in some political affairs and wars seem to happen off and on with them.

So far this is looking like exactly what i wanted. it will give me new oceans to pirate, and an opportunity to get a taste for other interesting things for me. I think i just found my new home :)

until next time, fly safe, because im still hunting... just in new locations :P

Back and better than ever!

Well it has been a while since I have posted a blog... In fact, it has been a while since I have ventured into New Eden all together. My computer broke and as a result, I couldn't play, But it's fixed now and just as the title says, I'm back and better than ever!

I made my return about two days ago, I was with out a corporation, and Pyrotechnics Inc. looked to be history. I figured i would be playing a solo hunter until i was picked up again. the first few hours were spent setting all my things up for pirating once more. Setting up my overview, testing, tweaking, making sure i was ready to go.

After a few hours, an old friend of mine opened up a private communications window with me. That friend was Nursultan, who happened to be the new CEO of Pyrotechnics Inc. and the last thing keeping it alive.
We exchanged greetings, and then he asked me what my plans for the game were now, if i was still wanting to be the pirate i started the game as. Pirating is the reason i loved this game, and it was the reason i made it a priority to come back, so i replied with an enthusiastic "Hell Yeah!"

I threw my application in, and was back home short after. Pyrotechnics seems to have died down, but it was nothing new to me. I joined the first time as its first member, so I've seen it empty before, and I'm sure I'll see it grow again. None of that matters of course, as long as the few of us in there keep the killmail rolling in at least, and that is exactly what me and Nursultan have been doing.

As soon as i threw in my application, i was out and hunting. Nursultan and I found our selves in the Egghelende system. him with a Rifter and a Prober, and me with my trusty Rifter, The Phase Hawk. we scanned for a bit and Nursultan found a target to probe. Seems we found our selves a stabber running a few missions in low sec. Nursultans probe warped in and we warped to it. Gained point and quickly finished the stabber off. After that, we got point on his pod, and were able to ransom him for 2 mil. he left and we grabbed the loot from his ship...and its a good thing we ransomed him...because the loot was just awful.

after that, we probed out a Ishkur, and i really wish we wouldn't have... Nursultan called me in and we opened fire. now what we didnt realize was the Pilot was from The Tuskers, and at the same time, a Vengeance warped in as well... this time we were not so lucky... we held our ground for a bit, but were eventually taken down. we grabbed new ships, and Nursultan grabbed a Rupture to gain our revenge, but they were long gone by the time we got back.

A 1 for 1 night that was, but i did redeem my self the next night. once again we were back in egg, we had our usual trio, me piloting my Rifter, while Nurlutan is probing and piloting a Jaguar for his offensive actions. we got a catalyst on scan, and probed it out. once gaining some info on him, Nurultan said i should go in alone and solo him. I reviewed his info my self, and saw easy prey before me. I warped in, and did standard tactics. scramble, web, after burn, fire. he got my shields to 50%, i took him out. Tried to grab his pod, but he got away to fast.

back to safe, Nursultan probed while i wated for my GCC to expire. it expired and i dropped the loot off, nothing special, but still nice. we eventually probed out another catalyst, and once again, i was sent in solo. the results of this fight were better than the last. same tactics, except this time i threw in a nuet pulse or two to knock out his small shield tank. I was to fast for this one as he wasnt able to hit me even once the entire fight. the whole time i was playing the the song "Hammer time by MC Hammer" in my head "buh nuh nuh nuh, nuh nuh, cant touch this" finally, his fate joined the same as the other catalyst. This time however, i grabbed his pod. tried for a ransom of 2 mil, he was still young, so i made it cheap. he refused, so i blew up the rotten egg.

once again waiting for my GCC to expire, with two minutes left, Nursultan scanned out a drake at a belt, i warped in, this time me and him were gonna take him together. we had to be fast, we were at a belt and a unwanted intrusion was a big possibility. the drake had a nice shield tank, and made getting through his shields tough. he also had a nuet, and was using it on Nursultan quite a bit. The thing he didnt realize was, I also have a nuet fitted on my passive tank Rifter, and was nicely pulsing it on him, taking down his ability to hold that shield tank. we eventually broke his shield tank, and the armor was shredded through with little resistance, the hull coming down even easier. Once again, i took no damage, and once again we grabbed his pod. Nursultan opened communications with our new toy and started ransom negotiation. while he did that, i grabbed the loot. Negotiations didn't go well and we threw out yet another bad egg... but this time it was fine, because the loot from the ship was really nice, and sold for a total of 40mil!

Once sold, we split it 50/50 and decided to call it a night, and a very successful one at that! 3 kills, one being a huge pay off, and zero deaths. very nice indeed.

so lets list my pirate record in the two days i have been back

Wins
Stabber
Catalyst #1
Catalyst #2
Pod
Drake
Pod

Losses
loss #1

Yup, for some reason, i seem to be a lot better than i used to be, but I'm not complaining lol.
Anyways, thanks for reading, and until next time, fly safe because I'll be hunting >:)

A Evening Egg Run

So today i logged on with hopes of getting a lot of kills. upon logging on and giving my greetings i find out a fleet has already been put together. As usual i am fast to request an invite. my wish was granted and an invite i was sent.

I undock from our Corporation office in the Egghelende system and warp to my safe spot after confirming this is where we are hunting. there are about 8 of us in the fleet if i remember correctly and we start to scan for possible targets. we spend a decent amount of time chasing possible targets. Soon a pilot of the Punisher ship we were chasing begins to catch on and shouts in local a warning to others that there is a band of pirates hunting. obviously talking about us, we all say things along the lines of "I have no idea what you are talking about, there are no pirates here :P"

The pilot of the punisher then begins to get cocky and starts talking back with obvious attitude. our Corporation leader who was also leading our fleet begins calmly exchanging words with him. our leader acting in a very respectful in calm way to our little alerter seems to only spark this persons cockyness even more. he then tells us to leave Egghelende as the system is his Corporations "terf" and we are not welcome there. as these words leave our cocky friends mouth a pilot completly unrelated to the situation or even the corporations involved says to the punisher pilot "look in local, they have several members of their corporation here, you only have your self, it seems this is actually their terf..." this in turn made me laugh quite a bit. our punisher friend replies with a simple " shut up, i'm getting on my main to pwn you" he was never heard from again...

after this little detour of ammusment we continue our hunt. after a while our fleet mate probes out a acceleration gate. we warp in and prepare to camp mission runners. we wait for a few and determine no one is coming, our leader warps out. after a few short moments we get the call, our leader orders us to warp to his location. i engage my warp drive with his location set as my final destination. warping in i find a my leader and a few fleet mates already in combat with a vexor. i set my ship to orbit, engage afterburners and begin to target, but before i could get in range my fleet brings him down with a very nice explosion.

just as we start to move in on the loot thinking the worst has ended, another pilot warps in. we orbit, target, scramble and fire. his ship lasts only seconds and is gone... but just as his ship blows up yet another warps in, with a repeat performance he is killed in seconds. you would think, ok thats it, but no yet another warps in, this time it was a Myrmidon class Battlecruiser. still feeling the adrenalin and excitment from the streak we just had, we engage.

his shields fell rather fast, but we would soon learn that his shields were not the problem that would soon present it self. somewhere around 8 of us all bombarding him with fire at once, we are melting his armor. slowly but surely it goes down, but upon reaching about 50% armor it starts to rise again untill it is near 100%. we take it down to half once more just to have it rise again... as we struggle to brake below 50% he is picking our fleet off one by one. we try and we try but his armor just doesnt fall below 50%. as it become apparent to me that we are not taking this guy down i begin preperations to warp out. better to run with my lucky ship and live to fight another day than to stay and fight a suicidal fight. i grab the loot from the closest wreck while firing upon our enemy and engage warp drive and try to warp out... but it was to late, by this time there were only 3 of us left and i was his target. I'm warp scrambled and all hope of escape is now a dream that wont come true. realising my fate i continue fire on him as i watch my shields fall. as he rips into my armor i active my armor repairer at about 50%, but it was not strong enough. his rockets hit me, over whelming my armor repairer and rip into my structure. over powered and with no chance of survival i prepare for destruction with escape pod warp drive on standby. seconds into my structure and my ship explodes. i warp my pod out as he turns on my friend.

after the fight i state in local "Good fight" and "you had a very very good tank." i was returned with "good fight" and "thanks" as a responce. over all the dude was cool and it had to be one of the best fights i've had, even if i lost :P

until next time, fly safe :)

So much to ransom, so little time....

So today me and a corp mate were out hunting in Dal. after about 10 to 20 mins we locate a rifter.

my corp mate Kalreck warps in to confirm his location and upon arrival i am told to warp to his location. I warp in to find Kalreck already engaged and i join him. the fight was easy with just the basic tacticts of orbit at 500, scramble, web, and open fire.

upon taking his shields and armor down in seconds, we are now at his structure. keep in mind we have angels attacking us AND him. so we continue firing at his structure to finish the job...here is where things get funny...well funny to me and Kalreck at least. at 10% structure he sends the convo invite... he is at 10%... between latency and actually opening the convo, it was not enough time for me to cease fire AND tell Kalreck to cease with out blowing him up.

i ceased fire and opened convo, but like i said, not enough time and his ship popped. as his ship blows up he says cease fire he will pay ransom, obviously not noticing it is to late. as he notices what has just happened, he proceeds to call me a dipshit and immiedietly leave convo.

we get point on his pod and Kalreck opens convo for another attempt at ransom. at this point he says in local he was willing to do a ship ransom, but the pod ransom isnt worth it as he has no implants and "orders" us to pod kill him... we obliege and kill him...guess he has a new body to brake in now....

we then loot his wreck and wait for our cool downs to end... his loot sold for a little over 40k.... sigh... so the moral of the story is, 10% structure is not enough time to open a convo for ransom when you have 2 pirates, a npc, and latency against you... and dont call someone else a dipshit for your own mistake...

overall i found the whole thing funny and was glad to add another kill to the killboard :P

until next time, fly safe :)

a pirates life is the life for me!

I started playing this game about 2 weeks ago, after two days of the trial i was already sold and bought a full account. after about two days of carebear mission runs and mining i decided to look into the pvp side of EVE.

after doing a little research and seeing what it had to offer i found pirating, it looked so cool! hunting down your prey and opening fire on them with no remorse, taking their cargo and holding their little egg for ransom, seemed great!

so after looking up some of the most recommended guides, i was sold, i was going to play this game as a pirate. YARR!

i then went to the EVE forums to find a corp willing to take in a learning pirate, and help me in the event that i need it. i had a few offers, but the one that looked the most friendly and promising was Pyrotechnics Inc. i jumped on the offer and was off to amamake to throw in my application.

upon joining i realized i made the right choice, lots of good guys willing to help and have a good time hunting for prey. since then i have been learning at a rapid rate, between reading all the guides and info i can find, and the help my corp has given me.

right now im mainly training my skills, but i make sure to get in on what ever fleet roams i can.

I already have a few kills on our killboard, and also a few deaths, all but one of them being because of a stupid move on my part lol.

at any rate i really enjoy this and will be keeping at it.

untill next time, fly safe. :)
